Shalom Kites Are Flying for Peace

I am doing this because I am fed up watching Palestinian kids release kites carrying Molotov Cocktails.

Watching skewed media coverage portraying these kids as "Freedom Fighters" when they burn Israeli fields is frustrating.

The inability to act in the face of pure and simple wrong is a feeling that none of us should accept.

I decided I don't have to come up with a solution, nor figure out how to "fix" the problem or even change anyone else's mind.

I am simply going to go back to the heart of the matter and go fly a kite.

Because it is a peaceful statement. Because this is the way it is supposed to be and I am not going to let hatreds change that.

I need to be true to myself to say my part, even if no one else hears it, except a few of my friends.

So here it is.

Hatred cannot be allowed to rule our lives.

Our enemy's hatred cannot be allowed to warp the truth, to force us to hate, to obscure our goals and values.

Don't let hate win!

I hope this catches on. I hope that other people feel the need to say something positive to the world and to themselves.
